First circle granny blanket...done!

Hello wonderful crafters, I have great news...Yes, I'm done with my first circle granny blanket!
My boyfriend and I took some pictures I wanted to show you, I hope you like them.

My boyfriend's art ;) he, he

When I gave the blanket to the new-parents, they liked it very much. They were really surprised and congratulated my work.

The circle granny blanket was easy to make (and tiring at the same time, he, he!). I used a 4.5 mm hook and loads of love :)

My yarns had different thickness and I tried to equal them all. How? For some of the colours I had to use double yarn and, for the white colour, I had to use three balls at the same time.

This last part (working with triple yarn) was too mesy, I wouldn't recommend it. A couple of times it happened that I had such a tangle that I couldn't go on crocheting. It was too annoying, but I have learned the lesson.

Despite that, this circle granny blanket is one of my masterpieces at the moment!

New crochet hooks with bamboo handle

Dear friends,  I can't wait to have in my hands my last purchase: one complete set with 10 metal crochet hooks with bamboo handle!

Their sizes go from 2.5 to 6 millimeters. I do normally crochet with hooks starting from 4 mm but I simply couldn't manage to avoid buying this for the incredible price of 8 USD, shipping for free!

Because they come from China, I just hope it won't take too long for them to arrive, cause I just can't wait :)

All the hooks I have at the moment are made of plastic and metal, but any of then does have a handle. I read many crochet blogs whenever I can and saw in many of them how people are using more and more handled hooks for avoiding hand pain and future problems.

In addition, they say bamboo feels great while crocheting.

When I get them, I will write a post about my impression!

I wish you a lovely crochet day.

Circle granny blanket. Part 1

This is the beginning of a project I'm really happy with. A cozy circle granny blanket. Like always, it has started with a lot of inspiration on the Internet and some present ideas.

One couple of friends had a baby three months ago, another one is waiting for a baby that will come in few days, and my dear small sister...I would like to give this special crocheted gift to them.

By now, I have chosen the colours I want to use:

And started crocheting the circles. I want to make the baby blankets 9 rows by 9, and a bigger blanket for my sweet sister, who is around 170 cm tall already :)
That makes a lot of work, huh?

So this was it for part one, I hope you like it and start crocheting a circle granny blanket soon. It's super easy and enjoyable.

Birdie decoration

Last week I saw in Attic24's wonderful blog, a "Birdie decoration tutorial" that I found really sweet. When I saw those little crochet birds, I couldn't resist trying to do one of those :) Attic24's crafts are amazing, she has fresh and inspiring ideas.

Here you have the result:

This is a really easy and fast craft for a saturday morning, just go and look for some small pieces of yarn, and trasnform them into a cute crochet bird.

Do you like it?

I gave it to my very best friend and she liked it a lot. She has put it into her new car! That made me smile, definitely!

I wish you all a lovely crocheting week!

THANK YOU for your wonderful posts, crafter's around the world.

My first topic in this blog couldn't be other than saying THANK YOU. I love crocheting, sewing and trying to learn new crafts and projects, they always make me smile.

I never saw those things at home, or attended to any course, but learned from all the tutorials, videos and articles you wonderful crafter's posted.

I'm still a beginner, but my illusion is so strong that balances my ignorance :)
